Terms of service
Free while in beta
firstmate Relay - the myfirstmate.io service that answers your mentions - is free to use while it is in beta. There is no charge today for signing in, connecting your firstmate, or having the relay answer mentions from an account you linked on X or Discord. "Free in beta" is not a promise of free forever - see "Paid tiers may come later" below.
Usage limits apply
Every mention the relay answers has a real operating cost, which the relay - not you - pays. To keep the beta sustainable, one per-account usage limit applies: a capped number of mentions per period, shared across X and Discord.
When you reach the limit, firstmate replies once to let you know and then pauses answering until the limit resets at the start of the next period. Your dashboard shows your current usage against the limit at any time. The limit can change as the beta evolves.
Paid tiers may come later
We may introduce paid plans in the future - for example a higher or unlimited usage tier. If and when that happens, the free beta as it stands today is not guaranteed to continue unchanged. We will give notice before any plan that costs money begins, and you will never be charged without opting in.
Your account and your firstmate
Routing is owner-only per platform: only mentions authored by an account you linked on X or Discord ever reach your firstmate, and each platform checks its own owner identity. Your firstmate can only answer the exact post or message the relay dispatched. The relay's bot account posts the reply, but the reply content is composed by the firstmate running on your own machine, in its own voice. You are responsible for the content your firstmate generates.
No warranty
The service is provided as is, without warranty of any kind. It is a beta and may change, pause, or stop. We do our best to route and answer reliably, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service, and we are not liable for anything posted through your connected firstmate.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product and its pricing take shape. Continuing to use myfirstmate.io after a change means you accept the updated terms. The open-source firstmate itself lives on GitHub.
